Press Pass TV

The youth producers of Press Pass TV are middle school or high school students in the Boston Public School system. From scheduling interviews to editing the video, Youth producers will be involved in all aspects of producing the news story. Youth Producers have their work featured all over the internet, on TV, distributed on DVD, and they get to network with industry professionals. Not only that, but youth producers get the satisfaction of knowing that they are promoting the values of civic awareness and engagement.

Current Opportunities for Youth Producers:

• High School:
  • Press Pass TV is runs 14 week training sessions in the fall and spring. Students who complete these become part of the Press Pass TV network of video journalists who are called upon to produce news stories. For Spring 2008, Press Pass TV will be holding its trainings at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School on Wednesdays from 2-4pm starting February 27th, and at Media High School on Thursdays from 2-4pm starting March 13th.  Students interested in participating should choose a location that best fits their schedule. • Middle School:
  • Press Pass TV is offered through the Citizen Schools after school network in Boston. Students must first be part of Citizen Schools in order to participate in Press Pass TV at the middle school level. To learn more about Citizen Schools and how to get involved, visit www.citizenschools.org.
