Fundraising Update

December 14, 2009

The support we’ve gotten over the last month has been really incredible. Over a dozen people have donated what they could to bring us closer to our fundraising goal. We’ve raised just over 10% of what we need to get through the next three months. We appreciate each and every person that’s given, and especially those community allies that we know had to dig deep to support our important work.

If you haven’t given, there’s still time. Just click on the donate link in the righthand corner of the screen. If you have given, please consider sending your friends a personal message about why you donated and ask for their support. With your help, we can keep making media that moves well into the new year!

Be the Media Conference

December 14, 2009

On December 3, 2009 Press Pass was excited to be part of the 4th Annual Be the Media Conference at the Non-Profit Center. This was our second year as co-sponsors of the event, and we were thrilled to be a part of this great conference. This year’s theme was The Changing Media Landscape: Opportunities and Challenges for Marginalized Voices and Press Pass TV’s Cara Lisa Berg Powers and Joanna Marinova co-presented a hands-on workshop for participants on social media and how it can be used to advance your organization’s mission.

Cara Lisa Berg Powers was also a member of the opening panel, along with Mary Thang of EthnicNewz, Jason Pramas of Open Media Boston, and Jordan Berg Powers of Free Press. The conference was a huge success, with registration near capacity. Stay tuned for pictures and video.
